Vegetable Research Roadshow 2026

Vegetables NZ, with support from Vegetable, Research and Innovation and the other vegetable product groups is hosting the Vegetable Research Roadshow 2026. This roadshow aims to keep growers informed about the latest research happening in their industry, give growers the chance to discuss and provide feedback on the results, and help demonstrate the collaborative native of research in the vegetable sector. All growers and industry representatives are welcome and encouraged to attend.

 

Date: Tuesday 24th February

Time: 5 pm – 9 pm including dinner and refreshments 

Venue: Northern Wairoa Boating Club Inc

 

Topics will include:

  • Nematodes in Kumara – Holly Norman, Lincoln University

  • Fall Armyworm – Ash Mills, FAR

  • Black cricket project – Sophie Hunt, BSI

  • Off-label use in vegetables – Daniel Sutton, Vegetables NZ.

  • Vegetable R&D Headlines – an overview of different research projects from across the industry.

 

 

The day after the Roadshow event, A Lighter Touch is hosting a Biodiversity grower field day. Vegetable growers implementing biodiversity planting to support crop pest management are opening their farm gate this summer to help extend knowledge to other farmers.
